Biography
It’s easy to understand how
nineteen-year-old Lincoln Lewis wound up in Home and
Away’s Summer Bay: as well as being truly gifted as
an actor, he is humorous, hard-working, humble, and
oh-so-handsome!
Lincoln, who was born in Brisbane on
October 24th, 1987, has had a career that by far
belies his age. A professional actor since the tender age of
13, Lincoln has already starred in two big-budget movies –
Aquamarine, alongside teen-sensations JoJo and Sara
Paxton, and Voodoo Lagoon, which co-starred Lord of the
Rings’ John Noble, as well as working
consistently in smaller television roles, and as a
presenter.
Home and Away
sees Lincoln embracing a new and edgy alter-ego, the
hardworking farm boy who is yet to discover the lighter side
of life, and football fanatic, Geoff Campbell. Geoff lost
his parents at a young age and has since been reared by the
firm hand of his fire-and-brimstone grandfather. Sensible
and serious, Geoff has no room for fun in his grim life, and
his smiles are only raised by rugby, or his little sister
Annie.
Like Geoff, Lincoln (whose father is NRL
‘King’ Wally Lewis) has played football all his life. While
he did consider pursuing a career in playing football
professionally, acting has always been his truest passion.
However, he is understandably thrilled to now be able to
enjoy doing both through his role!
“In some ways, Geoff and I are the same,”
says Lincoln. “We both love our families and footy…I’m a
little more outgoing, though!”
Lincoln is finding his newfound fame a
both a bit weird, and a bit wonderful, and says it’s easy
for him to keep his feet on the ground, with partial thanks
to the attention his father has always received, and deep
thanks to his closely-knit family.
“It’s hard to understand why people get
excited when they see you,” he says. “I think to myself,
‘Why? It’s just me!’ But because I grew up with my dad’s
name always being in the lights, notoriety is a bit second
nature. My family and my mates help me stay ‘me’, as well as
remembering that I’m just here to do a job, and that
everything else is a bonus for which I’m so grateful.”
Despite the early mornings, which are “a
bit hard to overcome, but helped by the kilogram of sugar I
put on my Weetbix in the morning,” Lincoln is thrilled with
his new job:
“The cast and crew are all so down to
earth and have been very supportive, which has made filming
so much fun and being the new guy so much easier.”
In his downtime, Lincoln enjoys relaxing
in Queensland with his friends and family, wolfing down
strawberries, ‘cooking’ (he can only cook “foods from tins
and packets, in the microwave…or toast or Two Minute
Noodles), a good barbeque, and hitting the beach – all day,
every day!
So, what’s in store for Lincoln’s future?
“As long as people want me, I’ll stay in the acting game,”
he says. “I love being a story teller, and being able to
tell stories in a way that a lot of people can relate to.”
